Installation Instructions

Windows

1. Requirements: 1GB RAM, 3D Accelerated Graphics Card (NVidia, Radeon, Intel, etc) with the latest OpenGL drivers.
2. Download Chompy_Games_Windows.exe to your local C:\ drive.
3. Using Windows Explorer, launch the the application by double clicking on it.
4. Follow the instructions to install the software. The default settings should work on most systems.
5. You will be prompted to install Java. If you already have Java installed you can skip this step.
6. After the installation has completed, run the program by clicking on the icon created on your desktop.

Mac OSX

1. Requirements: 512MB RAM.
2. Download Chompy_Games_OSX.pkg.zip to your local Macintosh HD.
3. If you're using Safari, it will usually start the installation automatically for you.
4. Follow the prompts of the installer to copy the game files to your hard drive.
5. You may be prompted to type in the administrator password.
6. Once completed you'll see the new 'Chompy Games' in Finder-->Applications.
7. In Finder --> Applications, double click on 'Chompy Games' to start playing.

Linux

1. Requirements: Hardware accelerated OpenGL for X Windows (DRI GL). Not recommended for use with software-only (ie MesaGL) rendering.
2. Download Chompy_Games_Linux.bin to your home directory.
3. Open up a shell and type the following commands:
   $ chmod 755 Chompy_Games_Linux.bin
   $ ./Chompy_Games_Linux.bin
   
4. Follow the prompts of the installer to deploy the application.
   
5. If you use Linux on a 64 bit platform, you should download the Linux x86 version of Java, install that independently and then download and install Chompy_Games_Linux_Without_Java.bin.

Solaris

1. Requirements: Hardware accelerated OpenGL for X Windows. Not recommended for use with software-only (ie MesaGL) rendering.
2. Download Chompy_Games_Solaris.tar.bz to your home directory.
3. Open up a shell and type the following commands:
   $ tar -xfj Chompy_Games_Solaris.tar.bz
   $ ./chompygames.sh
   
4. Note that Solaris uses the Java Sound System, not OpenAL.
5. The Solaris installation on Sparc and 64-bit Intel is untested! If you use these platforms you may need to copy the Java OpenGL .so files into a different directory for them to be found by the launcher. Run java -jar launcher.jar -configure and copy the JOGL .so files into the directory quoted in the Java Library Path field {derived from System.getProperty("os.arch") }. If it works, please send us some feedback so that we can correctly configure the installation.

	Java runs on all Windows versions: 95, 98, 98SE, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 2003 Server, Vista, 2008 Server, Windows 7, etc. (32-bit)
Mac OSX	Chompy_Games_OSX.pkg.zip	9 MB	Easiest installation: everything you need in one simple installer (requires administrator password).
	Chompy_Games_OSX.app.dmg	25 MB	Everything you need packaged as an application bundle, in one simple disk image.
	Chompy_Games_OSX.dmg Double-click 'ChompyGamesLauncher.jar' to play.	20 MB	Everything you need in one disk image (non-packaged).
	Note that Java is already installed by default in MacOSX. Intel architecture is supported.
